How to Set Up a Mi Bedside Lamp (Model MJCTD01YL)
The Mi Bedside Lamp Model MJCTD01YL looks good and works well over Alexa voice commands. If you have one of these lamps, you can control it with our Reason ONE smart alarm clock. Here's how to set it up.
First, follow the lamp's user manual to set up the lamp and get it connected to the home Wi-Fi. If this is the first time you're installing a Mi Home gadget, you will need to install the Mi Home app on your phone or tablet as part of the installation process.
After you finish setting up the lamp and connecting it to Wi-Fi, you need to connect the lamp to Alexa. Make sure you have downloaded the Amazon Alexa app on your phone or tablet. Once the Alexa app is downloaded, you can login and follow the instructions onscreen.
Next, enable the Mi Home skill in the Alexa app so that the lamp can accept voice command via Alexa. If you have previously enabled the Mi Home skill in the Alexa app, you will need to disable the skill and re-enable it so that the newly installed lamp can be discovered by the Alexa app. Below is the sequence of screens that you will go through in the Alexa app. (The screenshots are ordered left to right, top to bottom.)
Once the lamp is connected via the Mi Home skill on the Alexa app, you can now use Alexa to control the lamp remotely.
